A Few Things I Learned in Michigan...

1. It is not fun to not know where you are going Friday night near downtown Detroit.
2. I have a strange accent.
3. Kody is really smart and residents like him.
4. You can't make a left turn in Michigan...seriously...no lefts.
5. The Detroit airport is probably my favorite big airport ever. There is a tunnel that sounds like Space Mountain. So cool.
6. Michigan in August is just like Oklahoma in October...fantastic.
7. Everyone in Michigan owns a snow blower. (according to Kody)
8. Hardly anyone in Michigan has a fenced in yard. Weird.
9. Craig's List is not a good place to find housing in an unknown city. Oops.
10. Detroit Lions season tickets are super cheap.
11. People like to get drunk and hang outside my hotel room. Awesome.
12. Cheeseburgers in Paradise can survive in a Detroit suburb, but not Edmond/OKC. Interesting. Score for Michigan.
13. People in Michigan do not like Florida fans. MUHAHAHAHA

Sweet Bailey

Bailey misses her daddy. She is jealous that I get to see him tomorrow. Since she won't be joining me on my trip to Michigan she asked me to take this picture of her so Kody would know how much she misses him. Isn't she the sweetest girl?

Vacation

I am going on vacation! I don't know exactly where yet, but we are going in December. There will be sunshine and it will be all inclusive. I love all inclusive. I do know that I am on of my head excited. Kody and I haven't been on vacation with just the two of us since our honeymoon. Four years. This will be our anniversary/pre-graduation celebration. WOOHOO The best part is that it was his idea. I know, right? This boy whines and whines before we go anywhere. He hates to pack and leave, but by the time he gets wherever we are going he is thrilled. He is ready for a break so the timing is perfect. PLUS, there are tons of great vacation deals going on right now. It is definitely the time to travel. Three months and counting!

Mini Crush

I rented 17 Again last night. I have a mini crush on Zac Efron. If I was fourteen, I would probably be in full fledged Justin Timberlake crush mode. It is a really cute movie. It even made me cry, yup, I cried. Go ahead...laugh.

Don't worry, I already told Kody about my new crush. He is totally cool with it.

Fight Gone Bad Fundraiser!

On September 26th I will be participating in Fight Gone Bad IV. It is a fundraiser that supports the Wounded Warrior Project and Athletes for a Cure. My goal is to raise at least $500 and I have one month to do it. Help me out! CrossFit athletes across the country will all be participating in the brutal Fight Gone Bad workout all in a effort to raise money for these great causes. Go here to learn more about the fundraiser. Every little bit helps. Go to the "about" section to learn more specifically about the two organizations. Check out the video section in the middle of the page for some inspiration.

If you would like to donate please go here to help sponsor my team. There is no minimum so whatever you can donate is much appreciated!

Finished!

It is over! Boards are over! As you might imagine, Kody and I are both so excited! He sounded really upbeat yesterday, mainly because he can resume a somewhat normal rotation life. No more nights studying until 2AM in the library. Now he can just focus on making programs love him. Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes yesterday!

Also, yesterday I won OSU/Texas tickets at a conference I attended. Yes, Katie, TEXAS. Sorry, I will not be cheering for Texas. Angela has encourage me to wear a Florida shirt to the game. We'll see. I have a few months to plan. It is on Halloween. Come on GameDay! It seems fitting that Kody and I will actually get to attend one OSU game together while is actually an OSU student. YAY!

Tomorrow

Kody takes his Step 2 board tomorrow. He has been working so hard. We have both been very prayerful about it and we are both in a place of peace. His score will have a big impact on if and where Kody matches orthopedics in February. We know God has a plan for us and we are grateful for that plan. Please keep him in your prayers! His test begins at 7:30 tomorrow and will last all day. The residents he is with this month gave him today off to study. They are awesome! Hopefully he'll start getting more than three hours of sleep a night after Tuesday!

Health Care Reform

If you have been following the health care debate at all (which I hope you are!), Joy has some good articles and blogs to read. As someone who will be touched by this on two levels, as an American citizen and physician spouse, Kody and I are both very aware of what this could mean for his future in medicine. Do some research and get educated. This is a big deal.

Take a look and read all the links she provided!
